Passengers of a private bus travelling from Noida to Agra have been robbed of their cash and jewellery on the Yamuna Expressway, the police said instantly.
The theft occurred remaining night after three armed males boarded the bus as a result of it left for Agra with its passengers, SP (Rural) Aditya Kumar Shukla said.
“A hunt for the culprits is on. Nearly Rs 15,000 was looted,” Shukla said. He said the pistol-wielding miscreants boarded the bus shut to the town of Surir, throughout the district of Mathura, and deboarded with the loot inside 15 minutes.
One of the youths held the driving drive at gunpoint whereas the others ordered the passengers to keep seated, the police report said.
According to the conductor Sudheer, just some passengers have been assaulted as they tried to resist. “I could save Rs 4,500 as I hid my bag under a seat,” Sudheer said.
An FIR has been registered.
